As of today, we have 318 individuals that have registered for the conference. Among them are the following individuals from the 1980's (1980-1989): Sandra Crowley, Karen G. Matlock, Lillie Stewart, Judith Ward, Calola Williams, William Sanders, Jacqueline Shorter, Zelda Jones Hines, Dywane T. Powell, Esther Ramsom, Marvin Rankin, and Sam Washington. By the 1980's, Motown had left Detroit for the warm weather of California. But the change in location didn't stop the old groups from putting out the hits. Releases included Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie's "Endless Love", Marvin Gaye's "Sexual healing", and Stevie Wonder's "I just called to say I love you". Kool & The Gang sang "There's a party goin' on right here...Let's Celebrate". The Cosby Show premiered in 1984 and kept people glued to their TV until 1992. Stone washed jeans were introduced and now they are mainstay. In 1986, about 73 seconds into its launch, the space shuttle Challenger exploding killing the entire crew of seven including Ronald McNair, the second black astronaut to be on a space flight.
